St. Alban’s Singers Ilford
Our very first concert took place on Wednesday 20th December 2017 at 7.30 pm. and was a great success! Over 100 people plus a choir of 22 filled St. Alban’s Church in Ilford to hear English, French, German, and Russian Christmas music. The programme included choral music by Bach, Handel, Berlioz, Tchaikovsky and Rutter, and organ music by Bach, Daquin, Balbastre, Pachelbel and Rutter. A feature of the concert was music from Handel’s Messiah, with solos sung by our wonderful guest artist Lucy Pickering.
Our second concert, featuring Lenten and Easter music, took place on Saturday 17th March 2018.
Rehearsals for our summer concert start on Tuesday 17th April.
St. Alban’s Singers is a new choir for men and women based in St. Alban’s Church, Albert Road, Ilford in East London.
We rehearse every Tuesday evening during term time at 7.45pm. We aim to give three concerts per year. Our repertoire is mainly sacred choral music from the 16th to the 21st century.
